Today we welcomed a group of China’s leading private sector entrepreneurs as part of a nine day business tour aimed at developing international links directly with Scottish businesses. 26 members of the China Entrepreneur Club (CEC) visited our premises in Edinburgh interested in exploring collaboration and investment opportunities with Scottish companies.

The CEC involves some of China’s most influential entrepreneurs, business leaders and economists with the 49 member companies earning a total annual gross income of over £338bn in 2015. Showcasing NetThings’ technology and discussing our business and future growth plans, the visit presented us with a huge opportunity to attract inward investment from China.

Our vision is to be at the forefront of low-cost energy management technology, and within the delegation there was a wealth of knowledge of our sector. The visit was very insightful and supported our aim to work with partners globally to understand different markets, build upon our own learnings and educate our team.

With China being the 13th largest export market for Scotland, and having economic growth of 7% in 2015, international partnerships with Chinese companies offer Scottish businesses considerable potential.
